Parkinsoni Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia parkinsoni)

Native to the clear rivers of Papua New Guinea, Melanotaenia parkinsoni is one of the most impressive rainbowfish. Males display vibrant orange and silver reflections on their bodies, contrasting with dark fins with coppery reflections, a striking sight, especially in groups.

It is a peaceful, lively, and social fish, ideal for community aquariums of at least 100 liters. It prefers well-oxygenated, slightly alkaline water (pH 7.0 to 8.0) and a temperature between 24 and 28 °C.
