The Gold Tetra (Hemigrammus rodwayi) is a small freshwater fish native to South America, particularly the Amazon basin. Valued for its shimmering golden hue, it adds a luminous and elegant touch to any community aquarium. This distinctive coloration is partly due to a thin layer of protective mucus that the fish naturally develops. Very peaceful and sociable, the Gold Tetra prefers to live in schools of at least six individuals, which highlights its fluid movements and golden reflections. Easy to maintain, it thrives in slightly acidic to neutral water, temperatures between 22 and 28°C, and a planted decor offering hiding places.
