Pseudotropheus acei (Pseudotropheus sp. “Acei”)

The Pseudotropheus acei is a magnificent cichlid from Lake Malawi, prized for its intense purplish-blue color and fins often edged with bright yellow. Less aggressive than other Mbunas, it is good for aquarists who want a calmer, but still colorful and active Malawi setup. Its gregarious behavior and elegant swimming make it a real pleasure to observe.

Tips:
Keep in groups (1 male to 3-4 females or in a colony) in a spacious aquarium decorated with rocks and hiding places. It enjoys grazing on algae from rocks and appreciates good water flow. Do not associate with overly aggressive species; it is compatible with other cichlids of similar temperament.
