Threadfin Eartheater Cichlid (Geophagus altifrons)
The Geophagus altifrons, nicknamed "Eartheater" or "sand-eater," is an elegant South American cichlid with peaceful behavior. It is distinguished by its long, filamentous fins (threadfin) and subtle metallic reflections ranging from gold to blue. By constantly sifting through the sand in search of food, it brings fascinating activity to the aquarium.

Tips:
Keep in groups of 5 individuals or more in a spacious aquarium (minimum 400 L), with a fine sand substrate that it can filter without injury. Have a natural decor with roots, leaves, and some stones, but few fragile plants (it can uproot them). It appreciates soft, clean, and well-oxygenated water. Its diet can include sinking pellets, worms, shrimp, and blanched vegetables.
