The Blue Neon Goby (Stiphodon atropurpureus) is a small freshwater goby native to clear, well-oxygenated rivers in Asia, particularly Taiwan and Japan. It is highly valued for the stunning electric blue reflections of the males, especially during breeding season, which contrast beautifully with its dark body.
Peaceful, active, and non-aggressive, this goby is perfect for a calm community aquarium. It prefers well-filtered tanks with good current, smooth rocks, sand, and ample algae or biofilm growth.
