The Golden Gourami is a golden variant of the Blue Gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus). It is prized for its vibrant yellow-orange color and robustness, making it an ideal fish for aquarists of all levels.

๐ฟ Behavior and Tank Mates
The Golden Gourami is a semi-peaceful fish, but it can be territorial, especially between males. Here are some points to know:
- Dominant males: They can be aggressive towards their conspecifics and other slow or long-finned fish.
- Good tank mates with calm species such as Tetras, Corydoras, Rasboras, and some Dwarf Cichlids.
- Avoid overly lively or aggressive fish like Sumatra Barbs or male Bettas, which can cause conflicts.

Omnivorous, it accepts a wide variety of food:
- Pellets & flakes for tropical fish
- Live & frozen foods: brine shrimp, bloodworms, daphnia
- Blanched vegetables: zucchini, spinach
