Pearl Gourami (Trichopodus leerii)
The Pearl Gourami is one of the most elegant freshwater fish. With its body finely speckled with white pearls on a silver background and an orange throat (especially in males), it adds a touch of refinement to any planted aquarium. Calm and sociable, it is perfect for a peaceful community tank.

Tips:
Keep in pairs or small groups in an aquarium of at least 100 L, well-planted, with calm areas and soft light. It partially breathes at the surface with its labyrinth organ, so ensure the water is well-oxygenated but without too much current. It readily accepts a varied diet: flakes, pellets, daphnia, shrimp, etc. The male can become slightly territorial during breeding, especially around the bubble nest.
