Assorted Oscar

Oscar fish (Astronotus ocellatus) are large cichlids native to South America, particularly common in the Amazon basin. They are known for their vibrant colors, unique patterns, and impressive presence in aquariums.

These fish can reach 30 to 35 cm in an aquarium and therefore require a large swimming area, typically a tank of at least 300 liters per individual. Their diet is varied: quality pellets, shrimp, worms, fish, but also vegetables to balance their diet.

Although fascinating, oscar fish can be territorial and sometimes aggressive, especially during mating season. They are best suited for experienced aquarists who can provide them with a suitable environment and powerful filtration.
