Asian Gold Clam
The Asian Gold Clam is an impressive freshwater mollusk, recognizable by its large, thick shell with bright golden reflections. Native to Asia, this clam can reach up to 10 cm, making it an original and decorative addition to medium to large aquariums.
It is especially appreciated for its role as a natural filter: it purifies water by feeding on micro-particles, microalgae, and suspended organic waste. It thus actively contributes to maintaining clear and healthier water.
Discreet and peaceful, it likes to partially burrow into sand or gravel and thrives best in a well-oxygenated aquarium with a slight current.
Ideal conditions:
Temperature: 20–28 °C
pH: 6.5–7.5
Adult size: up to 10 cm
💡 Warning: it is sensitive to poor water quality (high nitrates, lack of oxygen). Good water circulation is essential for its survival.
