Pleco L397

Pleco L397, also known as "Red Panaque Pleco" or "Panaque L397", are catfish native to the freshwaters of South America, particularly Brazil. This Loricariid is prized for its magnificent colors, sporting red and black stripes that give it a unique and very attractive appearance in aquariums.

The L397 is a peaceful and robust fish, ideal for aquarists with moderate experience. It prefers aquariums with driftwood, as this is part of its natural diet. This Pleco is also fond of vegetables such as zucchini or cucumbers, and it helps maintain balance in the aquarium by consuming algae.

In terms of water parameters, it likes slightly acidic to neutral water (pH between 6.5 and 7.5) and temperatures between 24°C and 28°C. With a rather nocturnal behavior, the Pleco L397 needs hiding places during the day and a calm environment to thrive.

This is a fish that can reach about 12 to 15 cm when adult and adapts well to community life with non-aggressive fish. Its beauty and ease of care make it an excellent addition to a planted tropical aquarium.
