The Orange Seam Pleco L106, also known as Hemiancistrus guahiborum, is a catfish native to the rivers of the Orinoco basin in South America. Its name "Orange Seam" comes from the beautiful orange coloration of the edge of its caudal fin, contrasting with its dark body.

Reaching a size of about 15 cm when adult, this pleco requires an aquarium of at least 150 liters with many hiding places in the form of roots, rocks, and caves. Semi-territorial, it can coexist with other peaceful species, but it is best to avoid overly aggressive or dominant fish.

An omnivore with carnivorous tendencies, the Pleco L106 appreciates protein-rich foods such as bloodworms, shrimp, and bottom-feeder pellets, while also accepting vegetable supplements like zucchini and algae.

It prefers soft, slightly acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0-7.5) with a temperature between 25 and 30°C. Appreciated for its beauty and its discreet but active behavior, the Orange Seam Pleco is an excellent choice for aquarists looking for an original and easy-to-maintain loricariid.
