Tiger Barb

The Tiger Barb fish, also known by its scientific name Puntius tetrazona, is a freshwater fish native to Southeast Asia. It measures approximately 7 cm in length and has an elongated, slender body with a silvery base color and distinctive black stripes resembling zebra markings. The fins are bright red, with pointed dorsal and anal fins and elongated pelvic fins. Tiger Barbs are lively and active fish, and they tend to swim in groups of 5 or more individuals. They are omnivores and will eat anything from live and frozen foods to flakes and pellets. They require an aquarium of at least 80 liters with adequate filtration and clean water to remain healthy and thrive. They are also compatible with other active community aquarium fish species. However, Tiger Barbs can become aggressive towards other fish if kept alone or in small numbers, or if stressed due to poor living conditions.
